Na een loopbaan van zo'n 50 jaar die hem de titel 'The Godfather Of British Blues' opleverde, beleeft John Mayall een artistieke renaissance. De opvolger van het succesvolle album 'A Special Life' uit mei 2014 gaat 4 september uitkomen, het album is getiteld 'Find a way to care'.
Met hulp van zijn vaste band bestaande uit Rocky Athas (gitaar), Greg Rzab (bas) en Jay Davenport (drums), een blazerssectie en producer Eric Corne (Walter Trout, Glen Campbell, P.F. Sloan) legt John Mayall op dit nieuwe studioalbum de nadruk op zijn toetsenspel waardoor er een flinke scheut Soul door de Blues klinkt. Eric Crone over het nieuwe album: "I really wanted to feature John's keyboard playing on this record. He's truly one of the most lyrical, economical and under rated keyboardists around. We also wanted to change things up a bit after the success of 'A Special Life' and the addition of a horn section on several tracks was a really fun way to do that. As good as the last record was, I think this one is even better".
Ondanks zijn 81-jarige leeftijd er is er nog geen spatje vermoeidheid bij John Mayall te bespeuren. Zo maakt hij na een tournee langs de Amerikaanse westkust de oversteek naar Europa voor een uitvoerige reeks optredens waarbij ook Nederland en België worden aangedaan.
Legendarisch zijn The Bluesbreakers, ooit in hun beste bezetting bestond de line up uit: John Mayall, Peter Green, John McVie en Mick Fleetwood!
