Welcome to the magical world of the wonderful Florence and the Machine!
Als een van de "BBC One To Watch 2009" bands in de UK is Florence & The Machine in de UK al een grote buzz. Florence’s debuut album 'LUNGS' is geproduceerd door Paul Epworth (Bloc Party / Maximo Park), James Ford (Arctic Monkeys / Klaxons / Last Shadow Puppets) & Steve Mackey (Pulp / M.I.A).
De groep bestaat uit: Florence Welch (zang), Robert Ackroyd (gitaar), Christopher Lloyd Hayden (drums), Isabella Summers (toetsen), Tom Monger (harp). Eerder dit jaar toerden ze in Engeland met de 2009 Shockwaves NME Awards tour samen met White Lies, Friendly Fires en Glasvegas. Ook staan ze deze zomer op de grote Engelse festivals zoals: Glastonbury, Reading en T In The Park.
Verder wonnen ze in februari de Critics' Choice Award bij the Brit Awards 2009. "Rabbit heart" is de eerste grote hit voor de groep, met #12 notering in de UK. Het album kwam bij release op #2 binnen in de Albumchart (na Michael Jackson) en op #1 in de Ierse albumcharts.
