De Amerikaanse zangeres en lid van Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks, komt op 3 oktober met haar langverwachte nieuwe album 24 Karat Gold - Songs From The Vault. Het album is geproduceerd door Dave Stewart, Waddy Wachtel en Stevie Nicks zelf en is de opvolger van In Your Dreams uit 2011. Het grootste deel van de opnamen is gedaan in Nashville en Los Angeles. Voor het artwork van het album zijn nog nooit eerder vertoonde polaroid foto’s van Stevie Nicks gebruikt. Het album bevat songs uit de periode vanaf jaren '60 tot nu, die nooit eerder werden uitgebracht en nu door haar eindelijk zijn opgenomen en nu op het album'24 Karat Gold' staan.
Stevie Nicks zegt zelf het volgende over het album: “Most of these songs were written between 1969 and 1987. One was written in 1994 and one in 1995. I included them because they seemed to belong to this special group. Each song is a lifetime. Each song has a soul. Each song has a purpose. Each song is a love story… They represent my life behind the scenes, the secrets, the broken hearts, the broken hearted and the survivors. These songs are the memories - the 24 karat gold rings in the blue box. These songs are for you”.
Stevie is sinds 1973 actief binnen de legendarische blues-rock band Fleetwood Mac en daarmee ook mede verantwoordelijk voor één van de belangrijkste popalbums allertijden; 'Rumours' (1977). Haar eerste solo album verscheen in 1981 'Bella Donna' (met o.a. Tom Petty en Waddy Wachtel), gevolgd door 'The wild heart' (1983), 'Rock a little' (1985), 'The other side of the mirror (1989), 'Streetangel' (1994), Trouble in Shangri-La (2001), de collectie Crystal Visions (2007), The Soundstage Sessions (Live in Chicago) (2009) en In Your Dreams (2011) .
